How do I know if I need an SLP?

Do others have difficulty understanding your child?

Does your child struggle to produce certain speech sounds?

Does your child’s speech lack an even flow or rhythm?

Does your child have difficulty understanding language or following directions at home or school?

Does your child have trouble expressing himself verbally- including but not limited to responding to questions, explaining, or retelling an event?

Does the language your child uses seem delayed when compared to same aged peers?

If you answer yes to any of these questions a speech and language pathologist may be needed to help with:

Articulation (speech sound production)

Phonology

Receptive or Expressive language

Fluency/ childhood stuttering

Apraxia of speech

Social/ pragmatic language skills
